Green Leap Games
We are a team of experienced gaming industry professionals where we last 10+ years spent at King, developing major titles like Candy Crush Friends and Candy Crush Saga.
We share a unified philosophy centered on building exceptional, inclusive, and diverse teams. Our leadership experience as Agile Coaches, Managers, and Directors enables us to inspire and guide our teams effectively.
Our mission is to create a new kind of games. Games for a better tomorrow and a sustainable future, enjoyed by millions globally.
Our team values
Open minds, bold ideas, games we’re proud of.

Open & Honest
We believe in saying things as they are.
We share ideas early, talk about what’s working and what isn’t, and ask for help when we need it. Transparency is just part of how we operate.
When everyone sees the full picture, we make better decisions and move forward together instead of guessing in the dark.

Kind & Respectful
We care about how we treat each other.
We listen. We assume good intent. We respect each other’s time, focus, and craft. We create a safe environment where everyone can be themselves.
That safety gives people the confidence to speak up, take risks, and do their best work.

Curious & Bold
We’re here to explore, not to play it safe.
We test ideas, experiment quickly, and learn from what doesn’t work. Failure isn’t embarrassing here, it’s information.
Curiosity keeps us creative. Boldness keeps us improving.

Ownership & Quality
We take responsibility for what we build.
Everyone owns their part, and we think about the whole. We sweat the details and aim to create work we’re genuinely proud of.
That pride shows up in the final product. Players can feel when something is crafted with care.

Positive & Supportive
We want the studio to feel energizing and welcoming.
We celebrate progress, support each other when things get tough, and bring good energy into the room.
Because building meaningful games should feel meaningful while we’re doing it.
Meet the Team

CEO, Co-Founder
Fredrik Hjelm
With over two decades in the tech industry, I've worked in telecom, consulting, multiplayer game platforms, and mobile gaming, spending the last 12 years at King. I love leading teams and creating collaborative and inclusive environments.
A lifelong nature enthusiast, my concern for climate change deepened after a transformative presentation by meteorologist Martin Hedberg. This inspired me to pivot my career towards fighting climate change.
My mission is to create games for a sustainable future, using my tech skills and leadership experience to raise awareness and inspire action against climate change.

CTO, Co-Founder
Markus Ridal
I have been a software developer throughout my entire career, starting in 1999. Over the years, I've explored various fields, including contracting, telecom, fintech, and online poker. Eventually, I returned to my roots in gaming, spending the last decade at King.
This journey has taught me what truly motivates me: working with people and teams, striving for excellence, and making a difference.
Teamwork has been a cornerstone of my life since my youth, inspired by great mentors in the world of sports. This experience shaped my approach to teamwork and leadership, which I now apply daily and as an agile coach.
When it comes to making a difference, I am passionate about contributing to environmental sustainability. Merging this commitment with the fun and creativity of the gaming industry is a perfect fit for me.

Art Director, Co-Founder,
Mattias Andersson
I have always loved to draw and being creative since I was a kid.
Since 2012 I have been working at King and been part of the Candy Crush team and seen it grow from a small team to a Billion dollar IP.
At King I had the great opportunity to work with amazing talented people and had the chance for a while to lead the artists in the Candy Crush team as an Art lead and Line manager.
Growing up in a small mountain village in the northern part of Sweden I have always loved spending time in nature and feel strongly for the climate.
I strongly believe that there is still hope for this planet and that we all can contibute for a change.
That´s why I´m so excited to being part of Green Leap Games where we want to make our players more engaged in the climate by playing our games.

Artist & Animator
Alice Hansson
I'm Alice! I'm an animator and artist mainly focusing on character and game animation.
I've always had a passion for art and games. When I was a kid I made my own pixel sprites in MS Paint, which was the start of my journey in digital art that eventually led me to discover animation.
I have been studying at Futuregames, where I've gotten the opportunity to create animations for game and animation projects, honing my skills and enjoying making characters feel believable and expressive.
Since I grew up in the woods by a small town, I have a deep love for nature, especially animals. I love spending time in the forest on the countryside, and being mindful of nature is important to me. So the opportunity to work with a studio that makes a difference for the environment was a natural choice.

Programmer
Tiger Martin
I'm Tiger, a game programmer and technical designer from FutureGames with a focus on systems design and collaboration between disciplines. I've worked across Unity and Unreal Engine on multiple projects and I love building scalable games with clean architecture.
My passion for game development started with Pokémon, specifically a cutscene in Pokémon White that made me think "I want to create something like that." It makes sense that I ended up here, at a studio built around nature and animals. I spend a lot of my free time watching nature restoration projects, ecosystem documentaries and channels building aquariums, terrariums and paludariums, so joining a studio that takes the natural world seriously felt like a very natural fit.
